Why Mugs?

Mugs are functional and intimate works of art that we touch to our lips and hold close to our body. I believe they are one of the few ritualistic objects remaining in our society. Mugs are a vessel for comfort and warmth and they tend to be a part of peoples’ routine, something I take into careful consideration during every step of the process…

Creation

I like handles that can fit most or all of my fingers and a lip that is slightly tapered and flared, for easier pouring/drinking. The way the mug feels in your hands as well as the way it feels when it touches your lips are all thought through when glazing.

Glazing

The exterior glaze of my mugs are typically a satin finish. This satin finish feels soft and smooth in the hands, almost skin-like, and appears soft to the eyes. The interior and lip are glazed in a glossy finish. A high gloss finish feels soothing against your lips, helps prevent staining and is easier to clean.
